Why should I choose Area Truck Driving School?
Since 1994 Area Truck Driving School has graduated thousands of students. Our lifetime career services assistance program for Class A and Class B has assisted in placing a very high percentage of recent and previous graduates in the trucking industry. How long is your course?
Depending on your career needs you can choose between our two week Class B Truck Driving Program or Bus Driver Training Program, the Class A four week Tractor Trailer Program or the Class A six week Federal Motor Carrier Program.
Is job placement available?
Area Truck Driving School offers lifetime career services assistance for Class B (local only), Class A (local & long haul), and Class A and Class B refresher course graduates (local only). Our graduates are able to choose from the many local and long haul carriers that recruit from us. Get on the road to success with the help of Area Truck Driving School.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held at 1061 Martin Ave. in Santa Clara, CA 95051. Cross streets are Lafayette and Scott Blvd. Easy to get to in Santa Clara from the El Camino Real, The Alameda or Highway 101, Interstate 880 (Highway 17) and Interstate 280. Please come visit our school any time.
What opportunities do women have in trucking?
Demand for women drivers has never been greater. Many local and over the road transportation companies are heavily focused on recruiting women drivers.
Will I have a Commercial Driver License (CDL) when I finish training?
Upon the completion of the program, Area Truck Driving School will take its students to the Department of Motor Vehicle's CDL regional testing site for the CDL drive test.
Can I just take a refresher class?
Refresher classes for Class B and Class A are one-on-one training and based on the individual's needs. Please call 1-800-680-8782.
Does long haul or over the road (OTR) mean I have to drive 48 states all the time?
Many long haul companies offer our Class A graduates opportunities for regional Western States, dedicated California runs or Northern-Southern California runs as well as 48 States and Southern Canada.
